The HI-PE Multi Zone is a high performance walk-through Metal Detector which exceeds all International Security Standards.

A “height on person” display actually indicates, by means of illuminated LED’s, the position of the weapon on the person. Three operating modes are available: Floating (standard): the location zones are not fixed, as in the case of Metal Detectors with multiple receiver-transmitter coils, but are variable and continuous so as to achieve optimum resolution; 8-Zones and 4-Zones: the alarm threshold can be adjusted individually for each zone. The panels are washable and they are equipped with shock absorbent edges to protect them against damages.

PMD2, acronym for Programmable Metal Detector, is the most advanced CEIA application with an international patent of its own. It generates an electromagnetic scanning field for the detection of metallic weapons inside a monitored passage. Thanks to this technology, the PMD2 Metal Detector allows weapons to be accurately located on people in transit, considerably speeding up search operations.

Use of the PMD2 ensures an extremely high level of discrimination of metal personal effects.


PMD2 can be supplied, on request, with two emergency batteries that automatically come into operation in the event of a power failure.

PMD2 is available in panel (PMD2/PTZ) or column (PMD2/ENZ) version. Also an outdoor column version, PMD2/EWZ, is offered with an IP65 degree of protection.

A photocell transit counter is available as an option. This will allow for statistical data to be accumulated on the persons passing through the detector. The detector’s control unit is incorporated into the structure. Access to programming is protected both by a mechanical lock and by two alphanumeric passwords. The PMD2 is manufactured using the most advanced electronics technology, conforming to ISO 9001 Quality Control Standard procedures.

The CEIA SMD600 Multi Zone is a new-generation ultra-high sensitivity Walk-Through Metal Detector designed to satisfy the strictest security requirements, especially in penitentiaries and other applications where the detection of extremely small metal masses is required (for example: loss prevention), even if hidden in body cavities. It meets all International Security Standards currently adopted in public and private installations.

The SMD600 Multi Zone is characterised by very high immunity to electrical interference in the surrounding environment as well as mechanical vibrations; as a result, it can be installed in those environments where the standard Metal Detectors could not be installed before.

A full-height light bar displays the horizontal location of the detected metal masses in transit. This results in rapid identification of threat and a reduction, or elimination, of manual searches.

The Anti-Vandalism Control Unit (IP65 in stainless steel) is incorporated into the structure of the Metal Detector. The CEIA SMD601TM is a Multi-Zone Walk-Through Metal Detector specifically designed to comply with the new NIJ Standard-0601.02 (U.S. Dep. of Justice). The Standard establishes new requirements of Sensitivity, Discrimination and Immunity for Law Enforcement and Correctional Facilities.

This is an extremely sensitive device for the detection of conventional weapons, such as pistols and knives, as well as s
mall, hard-to-find items, normally difficult to detect, that could be considered a threat to officer and prisoner safety.

The three levels of Security specified by the Standard (Large, Medium and Small object size) are pre-loaded in the Metal Detector, and can be selected directly by the user via a simple operation at the control unit.

The transit of metal personal effects in common daily use through Metal Detector checkpoints generates signals which often exceed those of some types of fire-arm available on the market. Discrimination of these by the Metal Detector therefore becomes a necessary condition for establishing access systems with high flow rates.

As a solution to this problem, CEIA presents its new HI-PE/CF Elliptic Metal Detector which, with its detection functions based on an innovative signal analysis system, raises the threshold of discrimination between medium-sized fire-arms and personal effects to a level up to 400% above that of the 02PN8 HI-PE model.

The advantages of using this new Metal Detector are the following: a notable reduction in the need for branch staff to act to check inward- and outward-bound traffic; increase in convenience of access to the bank for customers; and, not least, the opportunity to increase the level of security.

Statistical data obtained in real operating situations with the HI-PE/CF Elliptic Metal Detector have demonstrated the almost total elimination of false alarms compared with earlier systems, at the same level of detection capability relating to fire-arms of conventional construction and in light metal.

The PD140SVR hand-held Metal Detector is a high-sensitivity device designed to detect magnetic and non-magnetic metal objects. The applications include detection of weapons, detonators and other small metal parts on people or in packages, luggage or correspondence.

The bidirectional detection head allows detection of metal on both sides, upper and lower.

The exclusive ergonomic shape ensures a secure grip, allowing rapid, thorough inspection operations with minimum discomfort for the persons being checked.

Shoe Analyzer

 

Notwithstanding the extremely high discrimination capability of last-generation CEIA walk-through Metal Detectors, a certain percentage of shoes containing significant metal masses still cause alarms during transit, and so have to be examined by security staff with another inspection system – usually the X-ray scanner – to ensure that there are no meal weapons hidden in them. This obviously causes inconvenience to the passengers in transit.

In the light of this new operational scenario, CEIA has developed the SAMD Shoe Analyzer to check shoes worn by passengers without having to remove them, employing low-frequency electromagnetic fields which are non-ionizing and comple
tely harmless.

The SAMD Shoe Analyzer, which complies with the most recent, stringent security requirements, reduces by up to 10 times or more the number of shoes that must be examined manually.
